The Beachmere Inn, a perfect location for a winter getaway! We went snowshoeing in about 16 inches of powdery snow, it was really nice low impact workout. And what a spot to enjoy it along the rocky Maine coast…
This is my backyard!
There is an abundance of beauty in cold and snow, you just have to be open to seeing it.

Words that come to mind for others when winter arrives: dreary, nuisance, gloomy, grey, long, cold, housebound
Words that come to my mind: peaceful, beautiful, bright, crisp, clean, soft, silent, cozy, soup, stew, cookies, baking
I grew up eager to play in the snow with my dad and brother. Mom would be inside making homemade Nestle’s Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies, woodburning fire roaring in the family room (they used a tray full of lighter fluid to keep that thing roaring!!). We’d go build snow forts (and help shovel if we had to) and then we’d come in when our fingers were frozen and eat cookies and drink hot chocolate. So I associate winter with warm fuzzy feelings! Besides, its the perfect reason to stay inside and bake or cook something to share with others! On the other hand, it’s a great time to go out and get some great winter photographs, especially when the sun comes out. My bio reads that my glass is always half full…
