maine lighthouses

One of my favorite lighthouse shots – note the slight crescent moon?

This is East Quoddy Light

Birch Harbor, Maine, near Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park

West Quoddy Head Light, the Easternmost Point in the U. S.

look at the details of the sculpted bird on the top – just beautiful! It was actually determined that the sun could be seen rising first from atop Cadillac Mountain than in Lubec because of the elevation, despite the distance west from Lubec…little tidbit for you.

East Quoddy Light, Lubec, Maine

This is one of my favorite captures – note the small crescent moon high above…

One of more than 60 Maine lighthouses: Bass Head Light

I think I’ve been to every lighthouse on the Maine coast accessible by car, and a few accessible by boat as well…but not all 60, YET…

From the Fishing Village of Bass Harbor

This quaint town is pure, postcard fishing village. Around the bend is the Bass Harbor Head Light, one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine. The building with the yellow awnings is Thurston’s Lobster.

Does this photo ooze Maine or what?
