Art and Photography
My love of photography began with my Canon AE-1 back in the mid-80’s. I took photography in college, loved black and white film, worked in a photo lab, printed my own black and white, took color slide film, loved it. Just took pictures over the years with it, but then as times changed, I bought pocket digitals and stored them online like so many of us do. I always said I was going to print some of my favorites, but I haven’t (I still intend to!).
But then I bought a Canon EOS D40, aaahhh, the world of DSLR’s. I had to try and forget what I was trying to remember about my old SLR because the DSLR was a bit different. And learning about RAW images, etc., there’s so much more to DSLR than SLR. I’m now so impressed with the results of this camera – I am constantly looking at things from a camera perspective – I don’t leave home without my camera in tow!
Art…I’ve always loved a variety of art. So this is where I’ve posted a mix of Maine artists and photographers as well as some from around the world.
Chet’s Photos – some of the most stunning nature photographs I’ve seen. He stayed with us when we had the inn.
Alan McConnell photography – another guest that stayed with us. Gorgeous scenes from all around the country, many in the southwest.
Carl Warner photography – nature scenes comprised of food – very cool.
My favorite artists comes from Russia, lives in New York. Liudmila Kondakova
An abstract artist with lots of movement, Marti Garaughty.
Some of my favorite local Maine artists (and those who portray Maine), Cygnet Gallery, Phillip Koch, Dennis Rafferty, Russell D’Alessio Scott Baltz, and good friends, BEEZ Studio
