One of the most peaceful spots in the north woods of #Maine
this is Upper Wilson Pond – and if you look at an aerial satellite map, you’ll see the winding and shallow “thoroughfare” you must travel through to get to the upper pond from Lower Wilson Pond. I felt like I was in the Bayou of the north woods of Maine! There were wild blue Iris growing, Rugosa roses, tall grasses, Lily Pads with big yellow flowers, tiny frogs on the lily pads (no kidding, I tried to take a photo but they’re quick to jump when even a slow moving boat goes by). This was one amazing hidden gem. All I could say was “WOW”…
